Program Notes
Easy Tiger is, at its heart, about patience—mostly, that I've never, ever been a patient person. I used to bristle at the phrase that mentors often tell us when we're starting out: “don't worry, you have time.” (Ironically, as a professor, I say this all the time now.)
I say it—and our mentors said it—because it's true. As hungry as we are for results, for movement and achievement and satisfaction, what fulfills us the most almost always requires some act of patience. Easy Tiger is a reflection of that hard-earned patience: a tightly-wound piece that relaxes into itself—a piece that slowly recognizes that some things take time—and that that’s a feature, not a bug.
